3. Deans’ List

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. TSUVa

Check out UVa’s adaptation of Governors Challenge model with an added twist. The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) advanced all members 10,000.00 for an Innovation and Creativity grant. UVa chose the TSU model as its project. The DMSC GovChal is aiming to be the NCAA-like model of education. Naming knowledge champions. Training knowledge champions. Growing knowledge dynasties for total social ROI.

UVa leads the nation in so many key ways. Here, Mr. Jefferson’s university steps historically into the 21st century with HBCU leader Tennessee State University, championing the leading edge social enterprise represented by the TSUVa collaboration. Look for more such configurations to arise in order to meet the challenges we all face, no matter our home institutions. (Hint: see marketing page)

2. Steps for DME guided system:

Step 1. Create a project management design for class (or project)

Step 2. Create a program management design for full semester (multiple courses).

Step 3. Research omni-disciplinary content (see module for entry-level guided system) in discipline-specific designs.

Step 4. Produce multi-modal products (assets) reflecting measurable learning outcomes (multi-modal portfolio: text, audio, video and graphic files)

Step 5. Assess quality of phase 1 product/asset status for formative assessment (self-, peer- and faculty-assessment) using guided system assessment.

Step 6. Analyze data from assessments and revise phase 1 multi-media asset into enhanced product for step 4 of system: publish.

Step 7. Publish multi-media asset for formative assessment (faculty).

Step 8. Best-of advances to academic vice-president and deans-appointed editorial board for final standardization.

Step 9. Stakeholders compute claim for equity and obtain validation through triangulation with faculty and community partner (supporting qualitative grad and undergrad research).

Step 10. Stakeholders input equity data into repository, validaters triangulate.

Step 11. Data is monitored for analysis and reports.

Step 12. Academic units iterate self-correcting guided system for continuous improvement.

Step 13. Students dominate 21st Century marketplace.

Purpose:

Creating a campus-wide guided system of assessment, data analysis and reporting sequence that produces best-practice multi-media for digital university press publication and marketing.

Here are the steps you can take:

Step 1. Convene chairs, faculty and students to set up editorial board.

Step 2. Deans charge board to study strategic goals.

Step 3. Create Technology resource-sharing plan which lists indicators for in-kind/indirect support for program.

Step 4. Deans ask chairs to appoint individual champions for Digital Media Enterprise Engaged Technology: These champions form University Press representatives who help determine strategy for Institute.

Step 5. Each department will also need a technical assistant (found within faculty: just ask!) to manage and develop the publication operation (web and iTunes U options). This is a good place for faculty with tech knowledge to step forward in service. Empowering student leaders to assist is also a strong force multiplier.

Step 6. Champions, with Deans and Chairs CC-ed, send out organizational call for producers and technicians from faculty, graduate and undergraduate cohorts.

Step 7. All interested stakeholders commit to supporting the approved branding and marketing strategies as part of their participation.

Step 8. In turn, university offers facilities/resources for production and publishing, as well as platform for professional development and marketing for recruitment, retention and alumni loyalty through e.portfolio platforms.

Step 9. All independent study students would be encouraged to participate in the Engaged Technology/DME modules.

Step 10. All faculty course releases could be run through the ETI’s in-kind economy database (IKE) that would track the public and social ROI through its IKE project.

Step 11. All stakeholders are encouraged to register to produce and judge media and to follow very straightforward instructions from website and facebook, twitter, and blog traffic.

Step 12. Each participating individual or class completes pre- and post-assessment and review of DME guided system and sends on best practice(s)/highest-scored media.

Step 13. Students dominate global market.
